Live-Action Prince Charming

When you sit down to watch a movie on a Friday night, you might think that High School Musical 3 is a safe choice. First of all, it's clean. Second of all, it's just fun. No epic tragedies or heartbreaks. Third, it has a happy ending. Sounds good, right?
Yes and No. All of the things above are true. But what you don't consider is that Troy and Gabriella, as nauseating as they are, are actually one of the cutest couples ever. And Troy, is everything you hope a hunky teenage heartthrob would be. He waltzes with his sweetheart in the rain, surprises her with margherita pizza, feeds her chocolate-covered strawberries, and gives her the most beautiful on-screen kiss ever. It's so innocent, tender, and adorable. So in all of his artificial movie perfection, Troy Bolton becomes the personification of the ideal guy. A live-action Prince Charming. He's the guy every girl wants...yes, even those girls who pretend they don't like him. Be serious, ladies. Who wouldn't want that? It's so adorable that it's salt in the wound...one more reason to hate Disney movies. And yet, it's those same reasons that make us love them. (To hear more of my beef with Disney, click here.)
The moral of this story is that watching HSM3 is a bad idea if you're not winning the game of love.
